Modern problems of mathematical physics
March 25, 2026, 14:00. A joint seminar of the Romanovsky Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Automation KBSC RAS and Analysis & PDE Center of Ghent University (Belgium) on Modern Problems of Mathematical Physics.
Speaker: Dr. Gayrat Toshpulatov, University of Muenster, Institute for Analysis and Numerics, Germany.
Topic of the report: Convergence to Equilibrium for the Non-Linear Semiconductor Boltzmann Equation.
Abstract: A kinetic model for semiconductor devices is considered on a flat torus. We prove exponential decay to equilibrium for this non-linear kinetic model using hypocoercivity estimates. This appears to be the first hypocoercivity result for this nonlinear kinetic equation for semiconductor devices without smallness assumptions. The analysis benefits from uniform bounds of the solution in terms of the equilibrium velocity distribution.
