Seminar for the 60th Anniversary of Zaur M. Shibzukhov
On December 17, 2025, our Institute hosted an extended seminar to celebrate the 60th birthday of our esteemed colleague, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics and Associate Professor Zaur Mukhadinovich Shibzukhov. Zaur Mukhadinovich has been working at Institute of Applied Mathematics and Automation since its founding in December 1991. During his time at the institute, he has defended both his candidate and doctoral dissertations. He also served as the Scientific Secretary of the Institute and the Scientific Secretary for the dissertation council. Currently, Z.M. Shibzukhov works as a leading researcher at our Institute at the Department of Neuroinformatics and Machine Learning, and he also teaches at Moscow State Pedagogical University (MSPU) and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). Z.M. Shibzukhov is the head of the Institute’s research projects, supervisor of RFBR grants, and the author of four monographs and more than 120 scientific publications.
An exhibition of his scientific achievements was organized to celebrate his anniversary. Zaur Shibzukhov received congratulations from Arsen V. Pskhu, the Director of the Institute, from Larisa A. Lyutikova, the Head of the Department of Neuroinformatics and Machine Learning and Anatoly Kh. Attayev, the Head of the Department of Mixed-Type Equations. In addition, the Director presented the Anniversary Certificate of Honor as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Automation.


A Junior Researcher of the Department of Scientific and Methodological Research, Institute of Mathematical Analysis, Mukhamed Kazakov made a presentation on “A Robust Adam Optimizer based on Averaging Aggregation Functions”. Following the presentation, there was a discussion about the relationship between numerical methods and optimization, as well as the challenges of training artificial neural networks and other machine learning techniques. Zaur Mukhadinovich spoke about the current state and future prospects of artificial intelligence development. He emphasized the crucial role of mathematical theory development in the ongoing advancement of AI.
